A C- grade while she was a nursing student at Temple University set Yvonne Bryant on the path to a career in the pharmaceutical industry. The grade meant Bryant would have to repeat the course, delaying her continuation in the nursing program for a year. ?Instead of allowing that situation to defeat me, I looked into other programs at Temple that would allow me to graduate on time, and with a degree that provided an opportunity to work in health care and with people in need,? she recounts. Bryant graduated with a bachelor?s degree in health track sociology and obtained an executive MBA at the University of Delaware. After several years in clinical research, she transitioned to marketing. Today, she is the senior brand manager for Hemophilia A Marketing at the global pharmaceutical company Novo Nordisk Inc. She manages patient support for the Hemophilia A franchise and contributes to the management of the Novoeight? brand. She also is the BioPharmaceuticals leader for African-Americans at Novo Nordisk, an initiative to develop African-American talent within the company for leadership roles.?

While advancing in her career, Bryant found time to indulge one of her passions. ?A friend and I took our love for bringing fun and creative designs to parties and started our own event planning business, Bryant Lavender Events. We work with our clients to bring life to their special occasions,? she explains. Scrapbooking is her favorite pastime. ?I enjoy art and crafts and creating books of memories. At the end of finishing a book, it?s nice to go back and look at all the fun moments and growth over the years. I?ve created several books for my children,? she says.?

An ordained deaconess, Bryant participates in Praise Dance Ministry through her sorority, Delta Sigma Theta Inc., and volunteers with such community programs as Philadelphia Ronald McDonald House and Chosen 300 Ministries.?
