Rosalind Brewer, whose held executive-level positions at Sam’s Club and Walmart, recently joined the board of directors at Amazon.

In 2017, she joined the board of directors at Starbucks and was later named chief operating officer. She was charged with overseeing the company’s operating businesses in the U.S., Canada and Latin America.
Amazon’s board also announced that Brewer was appointed to the board’s leadership development and compensation committee.
A graduate of Spelman College, Brewer earned a degree in chemistry and went on to work as an organic chemist at Kimberly-Clark.
