Moana Luu was named chief content & creative officer at ESSENCE. In this role, she will direct the creation and dissemination of content across all ESSENCE platforms, including the magazine, website, social media, apps, experiential, video and film/television. Luu will also develop the creative vision for ESSENCE and direct its execution across all platforms, partnering with various ESSENCE teams to identify new opportunities for audience and revenue growth.
She will be responsible for overseeing the editorial and creative teams and will report to Ebanks.

Before joining ESSENCE, Luu served as chief creative and marketing officer & editor-in-chief at Trace magazine. For 11 years, she ran the Moana Luu – Creative Lab, which she founded and served as CEO.
A creative leader, an interior designer, TV Host, producer and philanthropist, Luu is based in New York where she has been ranked among the most influential women in Martinique.
