Melissa Harris-Perry was recently named special correspondent at BET. Prior to joining BET, she had her own weekend show on MSNBC.
According to Deadline, Perry will host long-form specials and contribute to several of the network?s programs. Her first assignment will reportedly be to cover the Democratic and Republican Conventions alongside Marc Lamont Hill.
Harris-Perry made her debut on MSNBC in 2012. In addition to that role that ended earlier this year, Harris-Perry is the founding director of Tulane’s Anna Julia Cooper Project on Gender, Race, and Politics in the South. She has previously taught at the University of Chicago and Princeton University.
