Thompson is a founding partner of the law firm Thompson Wigdor L.L.P. Established in 2003, the firm specializes in employment, criminal and entertainment law.???

He is credited with playing a key role in high profile cases including the Abner Louima case of 1997 and in the 2012 case of New York vs. Strauss-Kahn. In the latter case, he represented Nafissatou Diallo, the maid who accused Strauss-Kahn of sexually assaulting her in a Manhattan hotel room in May 2011.?

A 1992 graduate of New York University School of Law, Thompson was one of four brilliant attorneys featured on the February 2013 cover of The Network Journal magazine.?
