Julia BrownJulia M. Brown was named chief procurement officer at Carnival Corporation. In her new role, she will oversee strategic sourcing and supplier relationship management. She will also work closely with the company?s nine brands and their support groups to strategically procure goods and services to further strengthen the company?s supplier relationships and leverage its global scale.

“We are excited to have Julia join us as part of our global management team and take on this new role that will be critical in helping us further leverage our scale, accelerating our drive to double-digit returns on invested capital,” said Arnold Donald, president & CEO for Carnival Corporation & plc.

Prior to joining Carnival, Brown served as Chief Procurement Officer, Senior Vice President ? Global Procurement at Kraft Foods Inc. where she was responsible for the company?s $30 billion strategic sourcing function. She has also held top positions at Proctor & Gamble, Diageo and Gillette.

A board member for the Executive Leadership Foundation and a trustee for the African American Experience Fund, Brown is a 2012 Network Journal 25 Influential Black Women in Business honoree.

Brown earned a Bachelor of Commerce degree from McMaster University in Hamilton, Canada.
