Jason J. Redd describes himself as ?a people person,? evidenced by his longstanding relationships within government and key business sectors throughout New Jersey. ??If I can?t solve a problem, I may know someone who can,? he explains. ?I enjoy building a network that can be a part of the solution.??
?
In just over a year?s time, Redd has worked closely with the New Jersey Coalition Against Sexual Assault to close a loophole in the state?s restraining order statutes that will now serve in favor of victims of sexual assault. Redd has also collaborated with legislative leaders to strengthen protections against bullying for individuals with disabilities.
?
Redd holds both a Bachelor of Science and a Master of City and Regional Planning from Rutgers University, and a Juris Doctor from Brigham Young University. Before deciding that he was better suited for a career in law, Redd was on track to become a medical doctor. He still exercises his interest in health as a part-time health and public policy lecturer at Rutgers. In 2014, Redd received the Edward J. Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy 2014 Young Alumni of the Year Award. The next year New Jersey Law Journal named him one of its ?New Leaders of the Bar.??
?
Despite his myriad of achievements, Redd was enthusiastic and immensely proud to be mentioned on this year?s Network Journal 40 Under Forty list. ?It might sound corny but it feels like I?ve arrived,? Redd explains. ?To be recognized by people I admire and respect for the work that I?m doing lets me know that I?m on the right track.?
