James L. AndersonJames L. Anderson, senior vice president of communications for Turner Broadcasting System, was elected to the board of directors of the National Association for Multi-Ethnicity in Communications (NAMIC).

Upon joining Turner in 2005, Anderson had served as vice president, public relations for Cartoon Network, Adult Swim and Boomerang. Prior, he worked in a PR capacity at Carsey-Werner Company in Los Angeles. In that role, Anderson is credited with leading PR campaigns for numerous television programs such as “That ?70s Show,” “3rd Rock from the Sun,” “Roseanne,” “A Different World,” and ?The Boondocks.????

In his current role as svp of communications at Turner, the communications veteran develops business strategies, acts as chief spokesperson and oversees all domestic internal and external communications, as well as the global franchise PR efforts that support Cartoon Network, Adult Swim and Boomerang.??

A graduate of the NAMIC Executive Leadership Development Program, Anderson is the recipient of the PR News Corporate Social Responsibility award for his work on the pro-social initiative Stop Bullying: Speak Up. In 2010, Cablefax Magazine named him one of its ?Most Influential Minorities in Cable.?
