Crystal E. Labreque Smart Start Scholarship, Jackson obtained a Bachelor of Finance from Baruch College and was recruited for JPMorgan Chase?s Credit Analyst Training Program prior to graduation. While a vice president at JPMorgan Chase, she suspended her career to participate in the National Urban Fellows Program, a graduate degree program that grooms midcareer professionals for leadership in the public and private sectors. ?It is important to take risks in your career, or, as I call it, a faith journey. I have felt the most fulfillment once I began to step outside of the box and walk by faith,? says Jacskon, who obtained a Master of Public Administration degree at Baruch through the program.?

Jackson is a youth director, elder and board member at the historical Ephesus Seventh-day Adventist Church in Harlem, New York City; a mentor to inner-city youth through iMentor; and career development co-chair for Citibank?s African Heritage Employee Networking Group. She ran a local vacation bible school while volunteering to build schools in Malawi, and served as a medical missionary in Haiti after the 2010 earthquake. ?At the end of the day, it?s all about service. I believe the greatest of leaders, are the greatest of servants,? she says.?
