Ericka Miller was appointed Chief of Membership, Governance and Higher Education at the College Board. In this role, she will ensure that all three areas are effectively integrated to help the Board work with its members in achieving its goals and creating opportunities students.?
Before joining the Board, Miller served as senior advisor to Secretary of Education Arne Duncan at the U.S. State Department. In that role, she led teams on projects that included higher education funding and grant-making. Previously, she worked as vice president for Operations and Strategic Leadership for The Education Trust, a renowned national education nonprofit. There, she ensured the effective development and implementation of a 10-year strategic plan, led a comprehensive board development process, and guided the organization through a significant period of growth, which included the establishment of a new state office and three supporting organizations.
A former English professor at Mills College in Oakland, Miller earned a undergraduate degree from Georgetown University and master?s and doctoral degrees in English literature from Stanford University.
