WASHINGTON (AP) ? President Barack Obama says the decade since 9/11 shows that America does not give in to fear, or succumb to suspicion and mistrust.
Instead, the president says the past 10 years since terrorists struck tell “a story of resilience.” He notes that the Pentagon is repaired, New York City remains a vibrant capital of art and commerce, and Shanksville, Pa., is a scene of friendships and family.
The president visited all three sites earlier Sunday before making his remarks at an anniversary event at the Kennedy Center.
He says the legacy of 9/11 will be that the country took a painful blow but emerged stronger, and kept the faith.
