WASHINGTON (AP) ? The White House is primed to make a grand show of hospitality for the South Korean president at Thursday’s state visit.
The visit will include a fancy morning arrival ceremony on the South Lawn. And Washington is waiting to see who makes the guest list for the black-tie dinner at the White House on Thursday night.
Thursday’s visit also will include the Obama administration’s largest ever White House “tweet up:” Hundreds of participants ? known as tweeple ? will live tweet from the arrival ceremony for President Lee Myung-bak (lee myuhng bahk). That’s fitting because South Korea is one of the most wired nations on the planet.
The entertainment lineup for the dinner will include the Ahn Trio, three sisters born in Seoul and reared in the United States.
