? Number of people employed by women-owned businesses in 2007: 7.6 million;
? Number of women-owned businesses with 100 or more employees: 7,644;
? Gross receipts these businesses generated: $357.9 billion;
? Percent of all businesses operating in the health care and social assistance owned by women: 52 percent;
? Percent of women-owned business revenue from wholesale and retail trade: 36;
? Top three states for the number of women-owned businesses in 2007: California (1 million), Texas (610,162), New York (594,421).
