    WHY:

Wells Fargo is making every effort to keep people in their homes
through the federal Home Affordable Modification Program (HAMP) and
the company?s own modification programs focused on mortgage payment
    relief.
    ?
As of March 31, Wells Fargo modified 665,000 mortgage loans since
the beginning of 2009 ? 85 percent were done through Wells Fargo?s
own modification programs outside of HAMP.
    ?
Ninety-two percent of Wells Fargo?s mortgage customers remain
current on their loan payments and the company?s delinquency and
foreclosure rates are three-fourths that of the industry. As a
result, fewer than 2 percent of the loans secured by owner-occupied
homes and serviced by Wells Fargo proceeded to a foreclosure sale in
    the last 12 months.
