NEW YORK (AP) ? A drop in unemployment claims and a smaller-than-expected rise in wholesale prices are helping sustain a modest rise U.S. stock market futures.
Dow Jones industrial average futures are up 26 at 13,156. S&P 500 futures are up 4 to 1,392.70. Nasdaq 100 futures added 9.75 to 2,712.50.
The gains are holding after government data showed that unemployment applications matched a 4-year low and core inflation is at its lowest in three months.
World markets are mixed. Britain’s FTSE 100 is down 0.18 percent. Germany’s DAX is up 0.33 percent, while France’s CAC-40 is adding 0.04 percent. Earlier, Japan’s Nikkei index closed higher while mainland Chinese shares fell.
U.S. stocks to watch Thursday include Cisco Systems Inc., which is slipping after announcing a $5 billion deal to buy NDS Group.
