According to the latest incoming reports, the White House under the Trump Administration has increased secrecy even further, as it has gone from 80% hidden transcripts to 99.5%, which is almost nothing. Trump’s White House has only released a total of 29 transcripts out of 149 from his news conferences, as well as his speeches. The White House did not offer any particular reason for withholding material that was already released in his first term. If you are someone who wants to know more about Trump’s White House increasing secrecy, the following article is for you.

Trump’s White House Pulls Down Transcripts

According to the reports that were released by NBC, Trump’s White House pulled down several transcripts of the President as well as the Vice President. Apart from Trump, the transcripts of JD Vance have also been taken down, along with two transcripts of press secretary Karoline Leavitt. Reports suggest this happened somewhere between Saturday morning on May 17 and Monday afternoon on May 19. The transcripts were then replaced with several of President Donald Trump’s speeches, according to pages the Wayback Machine tool from the Internet Archive has preserved.

What Did The Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt Say About The Increased Secrecy?

The White House did not provide any explanation for the take-down of the transcripts on Thursday. However, it did provide a statement from Karoline Leavitt about the transcripts removed. According to Karoline Leavitt, President Donald Trump’s remarks are currently live on the website for all to see. She further added that the journalists can visit the official government website and watch for themselves. Karoline Leavitt claimed that Donald Trump’s White House is the most transparent in history.

Are Karoline Leavitt’s Assertions Really True?

Karoline Leavitt’s assertions related to the transcripts do not seem to be accurate. This is because the “Remarks” section of the White House’s official webpage features very few of President Trump’s interactions with the media and other important personalities. For instance, President Trump’s meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, where he, along with Vice President JD Vance, blamed Ukraine for getting invaded by Russia, is missing. In the same meeting, President Trump also made a demand for mineral concessions in exchange for US assistance. In total, the page now has only 48 videos made public from Trump’s first hundred days of presidency.

President Trump Refuses To Follow Basic Transparency Measures

According to what the reports suggest, President Donald Trump has also refused to follow the basic transparency measures that the Presidents before him followed. For instance, none of Trump’s tax returns and his White House visitor logs have been made public. Trump did not allow reporters into fundraisers either. President Trump hosted a total of 220 buyers of his souvenir crypto coins at his Virginia golf resort. However, none of the names of the attendees were made public. The reports also suggest that these attendees have invested a total of $192 million for the privilege.
