Tracy Reese Spring 2014During Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, designer Tracy Reese debuted her Spring 2014 collection with ?an array of bold, spirited styles infused with Afro-Cuban influences to create an aesthetic full of texture and movement.??

At venue ?The Studio? at Lincoln Center on Sunday, September 8, 2013, models strutted down the runway dressed in gingham, geometric and tribal prints as well as the designer?s signature feminine, floral frocks while a live 3-piece Cuban band provided the sounds of Havana.

Some of the garments were accentuated by straw fedoras, reminiscent of Cuba’s hot and cool street culture.

Also present in the collection was body art, which Reese has said “reflects the grittiness of Cuba.”

Among the noted list of celebrities in attendance were actress Angela Bassett, stylist June Ambrose, socialite Angela Simmons and newswoman Deborah Roberts.???
