Georgia Vs. Texas: For the first time in the history of the program, the Georgia Bulldogs are going to play at traditional power-house Texas in a three-game series. The epic showdown has already begun this Friday, with Texas taking over Georgia with a 5-1 win in the first match. Ends 1, 2, & 3

Jared Spencer set the Bulldogs down in the top half of the first innings with Jalin Flores’ strong play at shortstop. Charlie Goldstein, the starter for Georgia, also ended up having a scoreless inning, stranding Rylan Galvan after he walked. Jared continued his perfection in the second as well, picking up a 2nd strikeout. The Longhorns also ended up wasting a one-out walk by Casey Borba during their half. Jared then successfully completed a perfect first trip through the lineup of Georgia with 4 strikeouts. Charlie Goldstein, on the other hand, did not stay back either and matched Spencer with his own clean frame.

End 4, 5, & 6

Spencer successfully recorded his fourth straight perfect inning, starting the game. Rylan Galvan singled and then managed to steal second and third base before scoring on Kimble Schuessler’s double through a drawn-in Georgia infield. Casey Borba also managed to launch a line-drive homer to left, successfully giving Texas a 3-0 lead in the fourth. During the fifth, Georgia managed to get its first hit against Spencer which was an infield single from Christian Adams. Will Gasparino roped his seventh homer in six games out to left field for a two-run shot. This added to their lead in the second half. Spencer had another perfect frame in the sixth with Texas going down in order in their half of the inning.

End 7, 8, & Final

The seventh had Bulldogs’ Nolan McCarthy launch a solo shot to left field. Spencer responded to this with a pair of strikeouts, bringing his total to 10. This is a career high for Spencer. Texas was set down again during their half of the innings. The eighth inning began with Spencer’s strikeout and a groundout. However, a pair of two-out walks did not allow him to finish it. Dylan Volantis managed to get a big out against Ryland Zaborowski. He did so with great help from Jalin Flores’ diving play at the shortstop. Texas walked to the bottom of the innings. However, Tommy Farmer never advanced past first base.
