Titi Branch, cofounder of Miss Jessie?s, has passed away at the age of 45. According to an obituary on NV Magazine?s website and an article on The Washington Post’s website, the cause, though still unconfirmed, seems to be suicide.
Miss Jessie’s, a line of products for natural hair, was founded by Titi and her sister Miko Branch. At an event last year sponsored by the NY Urban League where Miko was a panelist, Miko said the duo got the idea for the company from their beloved grandmother, Jessie Mae Pittman.
In 1997, they opened their first hair salon – Curve Salon in Brooklyn, New York – and years later, their products are now sold in Walmart’s, Target and similar stores.
