Union Bank N.A.
Brea, Calif.

As senior vice president and regional manager at Union Bank N.A., Tina A. Robinson places great store in the professional development of her employees. ?I want to make sure everyone is successful,? says Robinson. ?I?m excited to show up every day and see how I can push people to make a difference.?

Robinson has benefited from similar attention. ?My former supervisor, Carol Snodgress, helped me realize that it was my duty to pass on what I?ve learned,? says Robinson, referring to the senior vice president at Jackson Federal Bank in San Bernardino, Calif., where she worked before it was acquired by Union Bank. ?If my employees aren?t doing well that means I?m not doing my job.?

Robinson initially had aspirations of becoming an emergency room nurse to tend to patients. A job as a part-time teller at Redlands Federal Bank in Redlands, Calif., during college summer breaks changed that. She discovered that she excelled in assisting customers and building relationships, which led her to graduate from the University of California, Riverside, with a business administration degree. At Redlands, Robinson had the opportunity to lead the assimilation of one of four newly acquired bank branches.

Her branch led in employee retention and client satisfaction, an accomplishment that set the stage for her thriving career. By the time she joined Jackson Federal, she had moved up the ranks at Redlands. In her current role, she is accountable for the performance of 12 branches in Southern California. In 2008, Robinson was chosen to participate in the company?s LEAD Program, which has groomed her for the next executive level.

Robinson says her professional accomplishments would not have been possible without the support of Eddie Robinson, her husband of 27 years. ?You have to have a partner who understands,? she says. ?He?s allowed me to grow and now we?re enjoying the fruits of our hard labor.?
