In January, we reported on The Museum of African American History and Culture and the $1 million donation it had received from Wells Fargo.
Now, the Museum, scheduled to open on September 26, has received another $1 million donation – from Microsoft Corporation.
?The stories, art and culture of African Americans are vibrant and important narratives in our nation?s history,? said Fred Humphries, corporate vice president of U.S. government affairs for Microsoft. ?Microsoft is proud to support the museum and bring these perspectives to life in a powerful and enriching experience.??
The software giant, which had come under fire last year for a lack of diversity in its hiring practices, joins a growing list of 30 companies that have generously donated the same amount. Johnson Publishing Company, National Basketball Association, Bloomberg Philanthropies, MetLife Foundation and Morgan Stanley are among those companies.
