After test-driving the 2024 Audi Q8, I was eager to see how the 2025 model compared to its predecessor’s impressive foundation. Significantly upgraded in 2024, the Q8 set high standards in the luxury SUV category with its bold design, powerful engine, and advanced features. Although I haven’t driven the 2025 Audi Q8, my research indicates that it remains largely unchanged, with only minor updates.
The 2025 Audi Q8 boasts several enhancements, including Traffic Sign Recognition and an LED Interior Lighting package across all trims. It retains its striking design and powerful engine while introducing new Carbon and Sport Express Red packages for the SQ8 luxury SUV. The 2024 Audi Q8 Prestige, which I tested, established high benchmarks in the luxury SUV segment, seamlessly blending performance, comfort, and advanced features.
The Audi Q8 makes a statement on the road with its well-defined body and athletic stance. Now broader and flatter, the front grille dominates the front fascia, flanked by sharp LED headlights that create a unique and aggressive look. The sloping roofline, characteristic of a coupe-SUV, gives the Q8 a dynamic silhouette while ensuring ample headroom for rear passengers.
Upon entering the Q8, you are welcomed by an opulent cabin adorned with high-quality materials, including leather, wood, and aluminum trim. The center console is controlled by a dual-touchscreen system, offering intuitive access to the vehicle’s various functions. The Q8 also features Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, a Bang & Olufsen premium sound system, and remote start capability with Audi Connect technology.
A digital instrument cluster enhances the tech-savvy ambiance, providing customizable displays for crucial information like speed, navigation, and driver assistance systems. The cabin comfortably seats five passengers and offers plenty of cargo space. The top Prestige trim includes massaging front seats for added comfort.
Power/Performance: The 2025 Audi Q8 retains the robust 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine, generating 335 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque. The ride is smooth and responsive, supported by a 48-volt hybrid assist system for stop-start functionality, an eight-speed automatic transmission, Audi’s Quattro adaptive air suspension, and an all-wheel drive system. It accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in just 5.3 seconds. For those seeking more thrill, consider the SQ8 with 500 horsepower or the RS Q8 with 591 horsepower.
Models/Price: The 2025 Audi Q8 is offered in three versions: Q8 Premium ($75,695), Premium Plus ($79,795), and Prestige ($83,795) MSRP. The top-of-the-line 2024 Prestige model I tested featured the optional air suspension and 22-inch wheels, enhancing driving comfort on uneven surfaces.
Safety Features: Audi’s advanced driver-assistance systems are standard or available as options for all models. These include Adaptive Cruise Control with Lane-Keeping Assist, Blind-Spot monitoring, and a 360-degree camera system to enhance safety and convenience—the available head-up display projects essential information directly onto the windshield, reducing driver distraction.
Fuel Economy: Compared to all-wheel-drive competitors in the luxury SUV class, fuel economy is not one of its strong suits. According to EPA ratings, the Q8 averages only 17 city/23 highway mpg.
