SAN FRANCISCO (AP) ? T-Mobile USA unveiled two new smartphones Monday, the HTC Amaze 4G and Samsung Galaxy S II, that the company says will be its fastest on its 4G network.
The phones have average download speeds of nearly 8 megabits per second. Peak speeds are around 20 megabits per second, the company said. Both phones are expected to be available next month. These speeds are comparable to a fast home broadband connection.
T-Mobile also announced its Sonic 4G Mobile HotSpot. It is T-Mobile’s fastest 4G mobile hotspot, a device that lets computers connect to T-Mobile’s network on any Wi-Fi device, such as a laptop.
The phones go on sale online on Oct. 10 and will be in stores Oct. 12.
The HTC Amaze 4G will cost $259.99 after a $50 mail-in-rebate, with a two-year service contract, and the Galaxy S II will cost $229.99 after a $50 mail-in-rebate card with a two-year service contract.
