GETTING BIGGER: Online payments company PayPal is expanding its operations in Ireland. PayPal already employs about 1,500 people near Dublin. The company says its new site in the border town of Dundalk will hire 1,000 more.
GOOD FOR IRELAND: Since the late 1980s Ireland has wooed about 600 American high-tech companies to Ireland. PayPay is getting an undisclosed amount from the government’s foreign investment recruitment agency, the IDA.
SHORT TERM HIRES: The company hopes to have at least 200 Dundalk positions filled by July in customer support, sales, finance and compliance.
