Many fans of Scarlett Johansson and Colin Jost will never forget the memorable 50th season finale of Saturday Night Live. The theatergoers witnessed a performance filled with laughter, feelings of tenderness, and a twist of sweet revenge thanks to the power couple in the show. Scarlett hosting and Colin anchoring the “Weekend Update” gave the audience a memorable and popular episode at Studio 8H.

A Passionate Kiss to Close Season 50

At the end of May 17’s show, Jost and Johansson stunned everyone with an unexpected moment. Just as the credits were shown, Jost brought a giant batch of red roses to his wife and shared a passionate kiss with her on stage. The crowd clapped and cheered while the SNL cast pretended to be shocked, which made the event funny.

After a playful prank clip aired earlier in the week, Jost and Johansson shared a romantic final moment in the closing sketch this time. Despite the cameras being on them during the live show, the emotion was heartfelt and proved they are just as comfortable off-screen.

The Joke Swap: Revenge and Redemption

Many people eagerly await the final Weekend Update of the season, when Jost and Michael Che exchange jokes in the traditional way. They write jokes expecting their partner to recite them, usually resulting in sometimes embarrassing, edgy, and funny moments.

On the December 2024 episode, Che had Jost read a joke about Johansson that led Johansson to react backstage in shock. Scarlett paid a visit in the final episode to carry out a bit of harmless revenge.

Jost’s lines were the prompt for Che to begin, saying, “In the past, I set up Colin to tell singing monkey jokes about your vagina to the tune of ‘All I Do Is Win.’ “ He ended with the punchline: “I lashed out because I’m jealous.” I have never seen a human vagina. I mentioned human because I once lived it on a farm for a whole summer.

When the moment happened, everyone burst out laughing, and Johansson laughed along with them. It was both a witty reminder of the past and a clear indication that the actress knew what was going on this time.

Romance Meets Satire

The reason many people love Scarlett Johansson and Colin Jost is because of their personalities which are similar despite working in different professions. They first started dating in 2017, got engaged in 2019 and married in the next year. The couple has a 3-year-old son named Cosmo. In addition, Johansson pays close attention to her daughter, Rose, who was born before she married Romain.

Having them both appear on SNL made sense, as it was on the show where the two originally met and started dating. Jost has talked in many interviews about how experiencing SNL changed his career and life. While Johansson has taken part in the show on several occasions, her quick wit and showmanship are often discussed after each event.

A Heartfelt and Hilarious Season Finale

On top of the comedy and romance, the final episode of season 50 demonstrated the things fans adore most about SNL: strong humor, ongoing relevance and great team chemistry. As Bad Bunny took charge with a terrific performance, the episode concluded a marvelous season.

For Johansson and Jost, it was more than just a TV appearance. It was a celebration of love, comedy, and the legacy of a show that brought them together. Their kiss wasn’t just a crowd-pleaser—it was a tribute to where their story began and how far they’ve come, both as individuals and as a couple.
