Is there a Samsung 5.9-inch phablet on the horizon?
Rumor has it that Samsung will soon launch a 5.9 inch smartphone sometime this year. Well, since this South Korean conglomerate company has recently confirmed that it will be releasing a new Galaxy Note soon, Samsung lovers will surely be waiting for it with bated breath even before this new device hits the stores.
The War of the “Phablets”
While some people are not happy with the fact that smartphones are getting bigger with each new model, the overwhelming majority are showing their support for the “phablet”, as they lovingly call these oversized smartphones. In fact, Samsung managed to sell about 10 million Galaxy Note 2 units since it was launched in September of last year. This is clearly way above the charts!
Capitalizing on the recent popularity of the phablet, other smartphone manufacturers immediately followed suit and released even bigger phones. Will Samsung allow the competition to gain the lead? Well, definitely not. That’s primarily the reason why it will be releasing a bigger and better phablet so soon after it launched the Galaxy Note 2.?
What Can You Expect From the Samsung Galaxy Note 3?
Samsung is not revealing any specific details at this point. Other than some lingering rumors that the new Galaxy Note will have a 5.9 inch full HD display and will be powered by the Exynos 5 Octa core processor, Samsung is keeping its mouth tightly shut. It will not even share the phablet’s specifications with the select AT&T top brass executives who will be getting the first official look at the design mock-up of the new device.?
Some sources are also speculating that the Galaxy Note 3 will feature an AMOLED display while others claim that this wouldn’t be the case since Samsung had several problems with the production of full AMOLED displays in the past. In fact, there are rumors that it will feature an LCD screen to provide a better SPEN experience.
