Racing For Education and Diversity Motorsports Racing, LLC Join the Million Father March for Education
MOORESVILLE, N.C., Aug. 23, 2011
MOORESVILLE, N.C., Aug. 23, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ — Racing For Education, LLC is teaming up with Diversity Motorsports Racing, LLC to join an army of one million American men as they take to the streets this year in one of the most important battles that America has ever fought: The battle for the hearts, minds and spirits of American children. These men all have one thing in common: On the first day, all across America, they are taking their children to school in their cities.
Racing For Education (RFE) and partner Diversity Motorsports are supporting the 8th Annual Million Father March with two very special on-location events. They will be in Atlanta on September 3rd and in New York on September 8th with the Racing For Education NASCAR Nationwide Series race car to show our support of this worthy cause. ?
A record 800+ cities are expected to participate in this year's Million Father March. ?Last year, more than 800,000 men in 609 cities across America and around the world took children to school on the first day. ?As a supporter of the march, Racing For Education is an initiative whose mission is to create awareness for education and provide supplemental funding for our schools and students derived from the exciting and dynamic platform of motor racing, initially in NASCAR series events.
RFE brings an opportunity for the Historically Black Colleges & Universities (HBCU), and the Hispanic Serving Institutions (HSIs) members of the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU), to develop a funding stream that is not held hostage to the political climate. Funding for education at all levels is being cut by city, county, state and Federal governments, and both of these two groups must develop diverse and creative methods of funding no matter what the circumstances are. That's where RFE steps in.
The 2011 Million Father March is managed by the Black Star Project, U.S.A., and sponsored by the Open Society Foundation's Campaign for Black Male Achievement. Racing For Education is proud to support this year's march. We applaud all fathers who take the time to participate in this year's Million Father March, and want to continue supporting them as they participate more deeply in their children's lives.
