Progress Software acquires Corticon Technologies

BEDFORD, Mass. (AP) ? Business software maker Progress Software Corp. said Monday that it has completed its acquisition of Corticon Technologies Inc., a vendor of business rules management system software.

Privately held Corticon’s products enable organizations to make better, faster decisions by automating business rules and are used by financial services and insurance companies as well as online retailers and government agencies.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Progress shares rose 32 cents, or 1.5 percent, to close at $21.08 in the regular session Monday.
