BROOKFIELD, Conn. (AP) ? Photronics Inc. reported fiscal third-quarter results Tuesday that came in ahead of analyst expectations as revenue from its electronics imaging offerings jumped.
Shares of Photronics climbed 48 cents, or 8.5 percent, to $6.10 in after-hours trading. The stock finished regular trading down 57 cents, or 9.2 percent, at $5.62.
The company earned $11.3 million, or 16 cents per share, for the May-July quarter, compared with $7.7 million, or 13 cents a share, a year earlier.
Excluding one-time items such as a $5 million charge for the early repayment of debt, the company earned 23 cents per share. Analysts polled by FactSet expected 20 cents per share.
Revenue rose 21 percent to $136 million. Photronics said that sales of semiconductor imaging masks totaled $105 million, while sales of flat panel display photomasks totaled $31 million.
Analysts were expecting about $132 million.
