PHILADELPHIAApril 19, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ — Philadelphia-area residents in need of legal advice on matters involving mortgage foreclosure can speak with a volunteer attorney from the Philadelphia Bar Association free-of-charge by calling LegalLine P.M. at 215-238-6333 from 5 to 8 p.m. tomorrowApril 20. The session is sponsored by the nationally recognized Residential Mortgage Diversion Pilot Program (RMDPP), which was created by Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas Judge Annette M. Rizzo.

Among the mortgage-related issues open for discussion are how to prevent foreclosure, how to identify predatory lending schemes and mortgage loan modification scams, alternatives to foreclosure, and how mediation through the RMDPP can help resolve mortgage disputes. Callers with other legal issues, including those involving criminal law, landlord/tenant disputes, wills and employment, and others, are also welcome to call for free advice.

LegalLine P.M., which takes place on the third Wednesday of each month, is a public-service program with the intent of providing quick and accurate legal advice to the Philadelphia community.

Over the past 23 years, the program's volunteer attorneys have helped thousands of area residents with their legal issues either directly or by referring callers to an appropriate source.

As it has for more than 60 years, the Philadelphia Bar Association can refer callers to attorneys in private practice for up to a 30-minute consultation at a reduced fee of $30.00. The fee arrangement after that is negotiated between the client and the attorney. To access this service, simply call 215-238-6333 Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
