Wells Fargo & Co. named Yvette Hollingsworth chief compliance officer. 
Before this appointment, Hollingsworth was managing director and global head of Operations Compliance and Financial Crimes Compliance & Risk Management at Barclay?s Corporate & Investment Bank. Earlier in her career, she spent 10 years as a regulator with the Federal Reserve System in both San Francisco and New York. In her new role, she will oversee compliance management issues, making sure that the company follows all applicable laws and regulations. Hollingsworth is a board member of both the New York chapter of the National Black MBA Association and the New York/New Jersey region of INROADS. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the State University of New York Institute of Technology and an MBA from Syracuse University.??????
Seymour James, the attorney-in-charge of the criminal practice division of
The Legal Aid Society, has taken office as president of the New York State Bar Association. The appointment makes him the third African-American president in the association?s history. In his role as president, James will focus on reforming New York?s criminal discovery laws, helping former prisoners re-enter society and increasing public participation in elections. His other priorities include reducing wrongful convictions, increasing funding for civil legal services and enhancing diversity in the Bar Association. James is a past president of the Queens County Bar Association and a former board member of the Metropolitan Black Bar Association. He earned his undergraduate degree from Brown University and his law degree from Boston University School of Law.
Robyn Motley was appointed senior vice president and general manager of the American Association of Retired Persons? (AARP) media properties. Prior to this, she served as regional senior vice president and chief financial officer for The Sun Sentinel, Orlando Sentinel and WSFL-TV. In her new role at AARP, she will oversee operations and sales for the company?s digital, print and broadcast properties. Her media career began at The Washington Post, where she served as advertising sales and service manager. Since then, she has held several executive-level positions with multimedia companies, newspapers, and radio and cable stations. Motley is the recipient of many honors and awards, including the African American Luminary Award in 2011 and the Women of Achievement Award for Extraordinary Community Service in 2008.????????
The Michigan Black Chamber of Commerce announced the election of Tyrone Sanders, Esq., as the new president of the Lansing Black Chamber of Commerce (LBCC). Since 2004, he has been a partner at Public Affairs Associates. Prior 
to that, he was vice president of external and government affairs at AT&T, formerly SBC Communications Inc. During law school, he served as a legislative aide in the Office of State Senator Virgil Smith. In his new role as president of LBCC, Sanders will carry on the organization?s mission to advocate on behalf of Black-owned businesses in the Lansing area. Sanders received a Bachelor of Arts in telecommunications from Michigan State University and a law degree from Thomas M. Cooley Law School.
William Tompkins was named president and CEO of the National Newspaper Publishers Association. His media experience includes 19 years at The Washington Post as vice president of marketing, director of national advertising and manager of corporate and financial advertising sales. Afterward, he served as chief marketing officer of the entertainment imaging business unit at Kodak Eastman. At Kodak, he also served as vice president and general manager of the Motion Picture Film Group, where he managed a $700 million global distribution operation. In his new role at NNPA, he will oversee financial matters for the association and work to provide bigger revenue streams for members. Tompkins is a former chairman of the National Kidney Foundation and has served on the board of the National Advertising Council. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics magna cum laude from Tufts University and an MBA from the Harvard Business School.??????
Carol Watson was named president of Advertising Women of New York (AWNY). For 13 years, she served as managing director at The New York Times and prior to her tenure at NYT, she was an account executive at Essence magazine. Recently, she served as publisher of Vibe and Vibe Vixen and is the founder of CW & Partners, a multicultural youth marketing and consulting firm. In 2006, she formed Tangerine-Watson Inc., a cross-cultural talent consultancy firm based in New York City. At the firm, Watson specializes in executive talent sourcing and retention consulting for the advertising industry. Prior to her appointment as president, she served as vice president at AWNY.
