OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) ? Internet radio company Pandora Media Inc. said Monday that it named Simon Fleming-Wood to the newly created position of chief marketing officer.

Fleming-Wood, 43, was previously Cisco Systems Inc.’s vice president of marketing for consumer products. He was the first marketing vice president for Pure Digital Technologies, which spawned the Flip Video line of pocket camcorders. He moved over to Cisco after the computer networking company purchased Pure Digital in 2009.

Despite the Flip’s popularity, Cisco shut the unit down in April as part of a major reorganization.

Pandora shares rose 32 cents, or 2.1 percent, to $15.62 in midday trading. The Oakland, Calif., company went public in June at $16 per share.
