A partner at Edwards Wildman Palmer L.L.P., focusing on business transactions, Pamela S. Robertson is enthusiastic about working with her clients ? institutional investors, public pension funds, venture capital funds, businesses, portfolio companies, domestic and foreign government entities, financial institutions, corporate and partnership entities, and investment banks. ?There is nothing like doing what you are suited for in an environment that is supportive and challenging,? she says. Robertson joined Edwards Wildman as an associate in the public finance department. She served as partner in charge of the firm?s Florida offices for several years and now serves on the firm?s Nominating Committee. In 2004, she became the founding co-chair of the firm?s Teamwork and Diversity Strategy Committee. She is an active member of both the New York and Rhode Island bars.
With her mother, a professional bass player, and her father, a dentist who played classical violin, Robertson developed a love of music, boasting a playlist from classical to salsa to Afro-Celtic. ?It?s one thing that balances me,? she declares. ?The other is horses.? Born in Panama and raised in New Rochelle, N.Y., Robertson earned a bachelor?s degree in international business from Brown University and her law degree from Georgetown University. She is a member of the National Association of Investment Companies, National Association of Securities Professionals, Women?s Association of Venture & Equity and the National Association of Public Pension Attorneys. She served on the board of the National Association of Bond Lawyers and on the boards of community organizations, namely the Community Foundation of Palm Beach & Martin Counties, McAuley Village, Crossroads and PowerPlay.
Her advice to junior attorneys: ?Remember that you need to identify your strengths but work to develop and improve all skills. Ultimately, you will find out who you really are and what works for you. It is a process.?
