WASHINGTON (AP) ? President Barack Obama will sign free-trade agreements with South Korea, Panama and Colombia on Friday, along with the renewal of the Trade Adjustment Assistance program for American workers hurt by foreign competition.
Obama also will attend a reception in the Rose Garden with business and labor leaders as well as workers who will benefit from these bills.
Later Friday, the president will honor the recipients of the 2010 National Medal of Science and National Medal of Technology and Innovation. The medals are the highest honors bestowed by the federal government on scientists, engineers and inventors.
Obama also will announce new efforts to speed new ideas from the laboratory to the marketplace.
