WASHINGTON (AP) — President Barack Obama is telling a Jewish group that his administration has done more than any other to support Israel. He says his commitment to Israel is unshakable.
Obama has come under persistent attack from Republicans heading into the 2012 election who say he hasn’t done enough for Israel. But he says it’s a fact that his administration has been there for Israel, at the United Nations and elsewhere. Said the president: “Don’t let anyone else tell you otherwise.”
The president made his comments Friday at a conference of the Union for Reform Judaism, a large gathering of North American Jews.
