WASHINGTON (AP) ? President Barack Obama is traveling west on Wednesday.

In Boulder City, Nev., he’ll visit the nation’s largest operating photovoltaic plant. The facility uses nearly a million solar panels to power 17,000 homes. The White House says the president will highlight his administration’s focus on diversifying the nation’s energy supplies, including expanding renewable energy from sources like wind and solar.

Later in the afternoon, Obama will travel to oil and gas production fields located on federal lands outside of Maljamar, N.M. The area is home to more than 70 active drilling rigs. While there, the president will speak about his commitment to expanding domestic oil and gas production.

In the evening, the president will head to Oklahoma City, where he’ll spend the night.
