WASHINGTON (AP) ? President Barack Obama on Thursday will welcome to the White House the 13 recipients of the 2011 Presidential Citizens Medal, the nation’s second-highest civilian honor.
Later, Obama will meet with Norwegian Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg in the Oval Office.
The president plans to thank Stoltenberg personally for Norway’s contribution to the NATO mission in Libya. The White House says the two leaders also will discuss Afghanistan, Middle East peace, climate change, the famine in Somalia and support for the new democracies in North Africa.
