BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) ? A judge has ordered a New York man suing for half ownership of Facebook to explain why he can’t produce some computer storage devices that the social network claims contain evidence critical to the case.
The judge also granted Facebook attorneys access to Paul Ceglia’s (SEHG’-lee-uhs) personal email accounts during a four-hour procedural hearing on the lawsuit in Buffalo on Wednesday.
Lawyers for Palo Alto, Calif.-based Facebook and its founder, Mark Zuckerberg, say the missing storage devices contain files proving Ceglia faked the contract on which he bases his lawsuit.
Ceglia, of Wellsville, says the 2003 contract shows that when he hired Zuckerberg to help him with a street-mapping database, he also paid the then-Harvard University freshman startup money for Facebook on the condition he’d own half if it expanded.
