NBA Trade Deadline: Time And Rules For NBA Trade

The NBA Trade Deadline for the year 2025 is the 6th of February 2025 at 3 PM ET. The teams must agree upon the deals by 3 PM ET on Thursday and submit them to the NBA office. It is important to remember that no team can finalize any dealings after the deadline has passed. The traders must ensure they submit their NBA Trade deals on time to the office. Without the approval of the NBA office, no deal is considered official.

However, if you follow NBA Trade closely, you must have come across various circumstances in which the deal was announced officially after the deadline had passed. This happens when the deal is sent to the NBA office around the 3 PM deadline. Hence, the news of the dealings is announced officially after the deadline. Such dealings are not unauthorized or break the rules but are just the product of the process of trade ratification. The teams involved in NBA Trade cannot officially announce the dealings before league approval.
