Natasha Sandy, M.D., loves to go to work, saying, ?If you do what you really enjoy, then it?s not really work.? A dermatologist, Sandy is the medical director of Columbia Medical Dermatology & Skincare in Maryland, specializing in general medical dermatology care and family medicine. Dr. Sandy was also appointed assistant professor at the University of Texas Health Science Center, San Antonio. ?I honestly can?t remember not wanting to be a doctor,? remarks Sandy about her childhood in Trinidad and Tobago and England. The decision to practice dermatology came after years of trying to manage her eczema. Believing that her treatments lacked a true assessment of the whole patient, she takes a holistic approach to skincare, ?treating skin from the inside out.?
At 18, Sandy moved from England to attend Morgan State University in Maryland, graduating with honors with a bachelor?s degree in biology. She studied public health at Johns Hopkins University prior to obtaining her medical degree from Drexel University School of Medicine and completed her residency at Mountainside Family Practice- UMDNJ as chief resident. She was awarded a postgraduate diploma in dermatology from the University of Cardiff. Her additional dermatology training also includes medical student training at St. Luke?s-Roosevelt Hospital Department of Dermatology at The Skin of Color Institute, residential training at St. John?s Institute of Dermatology at King?s College in London and a clinical dermatology fellowship at the University of Texas Health Science Center.

Sandy?s strong interest in meeting the dermatological needs of the underserved and skin of color led her to participate in health fairs and free skin clinics in the United States and the Caribbean. She is a member of the Society for Pediatric Dermatology, American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery, American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine and American Medical Association. She practices in Maryland and in New York.
