Musk Defends DOGE And Cuts On Fox News: Calls DOGE’s Efforts “Revolution”

Musk criticized the government’s records, payment, and other systems promising the implementation of a better tech-savvy and user-friendly approach. When asked about the concerns of people and federal workers surrounding DOGE’s operations, Musk claimed it was a revolution. He stated that this is a revolution and according to what he thinks, the biggest revolution in the government since the original revolution. The billionaire gained significant power after recently elected President Donald Trump’s second inauguration.

Claims No One Was Laid Off

Talks About Social Security Administration

Musk has also been facing significant criticism over the layoffs happening in the Social Security Administration. It is resulting in various errors and difficulties for the beneficiaries, especially the elderly and disabled, who now don’t have phone services for identity verification. Musk was questioned about a report from the Washington Post that claimed cuts at SSA are causing the agency’s website to repeatedly crash and result in long waits. To this Musk replied that he would keep the website online and increase benefits. He also claimed that the legitimate recipients of social security will receive more money, not less money.

Apple Store-Like Experience

Throughout the interview, the top leaders of DOGE kept on criticizing the federal government’s record-keeping and technology programs. They also pledged that DOGE will improve the experience for the citizens. Joe Gebbia, who is a billionaire and the co-founder of vacation rental company Airbnb, is also a significant member of the DOGE team. In the interview, he highlighted the system for keeping federal employee retirement records which are stored in an old Pennsylvania mine. He mentioned how the process takes many months and claimed DOGE will make it just many days. Joe added that he thinks it is injustice for those who are subjected to such processes. He added that they truly believe the government can have an Apple Store-like experience.

Many Complaints To Come

Elon Musk agreed during the interview that the way DOGE operates will invite a lot of complaints. He mentioned how there would be a lot of complaints along the way. However, he shrugged them all off. Musk also added during the interview that the loudest and with the most amount of fake righteous indignation are fraudsters.
