Volvo is a big name in safety, luxury, and design. Continuing its 2025 lineup into the future, the brand embraces electrification, modern technology, and never forfeits its level of premium craftsmanship. In order to suit every driver, Volvo is providing a variety of all-electric, hybrid, as well as fuel-efficient gasoline models.
Among 2025’s most eagerly awaited Volvo cars are the fully electric EX90, EX30, and EX40, alongside hybrid and petrol versions of the XC90, XC60, XC40, S60, and S90. Each of the models is a perfect representation of Volvo’s innovation in terms of performance, sustainability, and comfort.
Volvo EX90
Volvo EX90 promises to be the brand’s premium electric SUV, combining muscle, luxury and a technological twist. The twin motor all wheel drive system on the EX90 propels the vehicle up to a roar, making 496 horsepower built on a dedicated EV platform.
The EX90 has a range of about 310 miles to drive without range anxiety. It fast charges in around 30 minutes and goes from 10 per cent charge to 80 per cent in no time. The EX90 comes with an autonomous driving and accident prevention LiDAR-based safety system from Volvo as well.
Volvo EX30
The Volvo EX30 is Volvo’s most affordable electric vehicle, aimed at urban commuters who are seeking a premium yet budget-friendly auto.
The powertrain consists of two, with 268 horsepower, single motor rear wheel drive with a 275-mile range, and 422 horsepower, twin motor all wheel drive, losing some range for performance. The EX30 looks like a modern and minimalist affair, has a Google-based infotainment system, and a spacious interior formed from recycled and renewable materials. For an EV, the EX30 comes in at a good price point of $44,900.
Volvo EX40
The EX40 is the renamed version of the XC40 Recharge, it has also gotten better for 2025. However, it’s still a fully electric compact SUV, perfect for the stylish but practical electric vehicle.
However, the upgrade on the EX40 battery makes for faster charging and more efficient use. The inside of the vehicle is a Volvo trademark of minimalist design, along with Google Google-powered infotainment system and sustainable materials.
The EX40 is expected to start at $52,000, an excellent replacement for the competition like the Tesla Model Y and the Audi Q4 e-tron.
Volvo XC90
Volvo is going electric, but the XC90 is still a front seat holder. This is a three-row, luxury SUV, available in mild hybrid and plug hybrid powertrain forms with a mix between performance and efficiency.
The Recharge T8 variant of the plug-in hybrid has 455 horses under the hood, with 38 miles of electric driving that can be charged from 70 percent in an hour. Staying true to its image as a family friendly luxury SUV, the three rows of seating, high end materials and upgraded infotainment system continue to make it retain its image as a family-friendly luxury SUV.
Volvo XC60
Volvo’s XC60 is one of its popular SUVs, with enough performance, luxury, and practicality to be paraded for many. It is available in the mild-hybrid and plug-in hybrid guise in 2025.
The Recharge T8 version with plug-in hybrid applies 455 horsepower to a 35-mile electric-only range, good for daily driving. The mild hybrid version improves fuel consumption without the need for an infrastructure.
Adaptive cruise control, 360-degree camera system, and Pilot Assist—a Volvo tradition in terms of safety—are present in the XC60.
Volvo XC40
One of the best-selling compact SUVs from Volvo, the XC40 still stands out. Whereas the EX40 is completely electric, the XC40 offers gas, mild hybrid, and plug-in hybrid options so that drivers can be flexible.
As an electrified alternative, the XC40 Recharge plug-in hybrid provides much much-improved battery and a small electric-only driving range for short trips. The mild hybrid model on the other hand employs better fuel economy without the need for a charging station.
Volvo S60
Volvo S60 is the German car maker’s compact luxury sedan, which provides mild hybrid and plug-in hybrid powertrains. The Recharge T8 plug-in hybrid puts out 455 horsepower while supplying 41 miles of pure electric travel and is one of the most efficient sports sedans in its class.
The S60’s appeal is increased by the Google-based infotainment system, building a premium cabin of materials and ‘advanced’ safety features. Starting price is around $43,000, meaning it competes with what are effectively its rivals, the BMW 3 Series and Mercedes-Benz C-Class.
Volvo S90
Volvo’s S90 is the Nordic car maker’s flagship ‘luxury’ sedan, promising a refined drive experience as well as mild hybrid and plug-in hybrid versions. The Recharge T8 plug-in hybrid version writes down for 455 horsepower and has an electric range of 38 miles.
The S90 is a premium car with air suspension, a panoramic sunroof, and a spacious cabin. It includes semi-autonomous driving tools, cutting-edge security technology, and a luxurious interior with sustainable fabric.
