NEW YORK (AP) ? Michelle Obama chose an off-the-shoulder Marchesa gown for her duties as hostess at a White House state dinner honoring the British prime minister and his wife.

The designer of the gown, Georgina Chapman, and her husband, movie mogul Harvey Weinstein, were on the guest list for Wednesday night’s affair, as was Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour.

Mrs. Obama’s dress was a rich and deep shade of teal, which she complemented with a chunky necklace with many strands of turquoise and silver by Tom Binns. Samantha Cameron also wore blue, favoring a high-neck, half-sleeve floral gown worn with a belt around her waist.

It was a quick afternoon change for Mrs. Obama, who earlier in the day officially greeted her guests wearing an icy gray dress and jacket by Zac Posen.
