Marcus Glover

Senior Vice President and General Manager, Caesars Entertainment Inc.
Las Vegas, Nev.
Age: 36

The gaming industry may be new to Ohio, but Marcus Glover, the man charged with overseeing Cleveland?s new casino venture, is a veteran. As Caesars Entertainment Inc.?s senior vice president, Glover has been named general manager of the new Horseshoe Casino Cleveland, a first-class gaming destination currently being developed in the heart of downtown Cleveland, Ohio. He will be responsible for its day-to-day operations and for ensuring that the venture maximizes partnerships and positively impacts the city and surrounding communities. ?One of the major economic drivers in the city of Cleveland is through the casinos. I will be working with other civic groups throughout the city to ensure that there is harmony among the many sports, cultural and entertainment attractions while maximizing the potential of the city?s assets,? Glover says. ?Nearly $1 billion will be invested in Cleveland to bring about this first-class gaming and entertainment facility in the heart of downtown.?

Ohio voters approved gaming in 2009 after Cleveland Cavaliers majority owner Dan Gilbert and a group of partners successfully backed a statewide referendum to bring gaming to the state?s four largest cities. Through a joint venture with Caesars Entertainment, the groups are developing urban-based casinos in Cleveland and Cincinnati.

Glover has worked in New Orleans and Biloxi, Miss., Casinos. Most recently, he was assistant general manager and vice president of operations at Harrah?s St. Louis Casino and Hotel, where he oversaw the resort?s 1,500 employees and provided strategic direction for the facility?s gaming, security, environmental services, and food and beverage operations. Glover earned a finance degree from Morehouse College and a Master of Business Administration degree from Duke University?s Fuqua School of Business. He is a former board member of the St. Louis Regional Chamber and Growth Association and a current board member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum.?
