After two years of battling depression, the famous American singer Lizzo finally opened up about her mental health during her concert in LA. The concert was scheduled for the 12th of March 2025 at the Wiltern Theatre in Los Angeles. A video of this concert went viral on social media where she was seen addressing her mental health. Lizzo Opens Up About Depression: What She Said About Her Upcoming Album?

While her first concert in LA was coming to an end, Lizzo talked about her struggles with her mental health. She shared with her audience how her personal experiences shaped and inspired her upcoming new album titled “Love in Real Life.” Lizzi added that she titled the album that because a year and a half ago it was so hard to talk about. She also opened up about suffering from depression saying she was in “such a deep dark depression.” Lizzo revealed the world had her so heartbroken that she was afraid to be seen and didn’t want to live. However, she eventually overcame that fear.

What Was The Miracle That Kept Her Going?

Lizzo, in an interview with PEOPLE magazine, explained how she had a miraculous breakthrough while heading for her performance spot. She explained how when she was walking to her performance spot for a concert at that time, someone she didn’t know told her they loved her. They also reached out to her and hugged her. She added how it felt so damn good. Later, it was 10 people, and then it was 100 people, and then it was 1,000 people, and then it was 10,000 people showering her with love and support. Lizzo also added they reached out and allowed her to reach back out and embrace her as well.

The Singer Expressed Her Gratitude For Her Fans 

The singer renowned for her hit song “The Truth Hurts” expressed her heartfelt gratitude to her fans for having her back when she needed it the most. She also mentioned how the love and unwavering support the fans showered on her became a lifesaver for her. Lizzo also added how she thought this love is not something you get on the internet. Instead, this was the kind of love you can only get in real life. 

The Singers Tell Those Battling With Mental Health To Reach Out

She also added in her address to the audience that she wasn’t saying all this to gain any sympathy. Lizzo added that the reason she was sharing her story was because she knew there must be somebody in the crowd suffering from the same. Somebody in the crowd must have gone through depression as well and felt betrayed by someone they trusted. She added that it’s a universal feeling and experience. Lizzo told her fans battling with depression to reach out. 

Lizzo Opens Up About Depression: What Exactly Happened In 2023?

After her grand tour in 2023 had its conclusion, three of her former backdancers accused Lizzo of sexual harassment. They also additionally accused her of fostering a hostile work environment.  She denied the allegations. Lizzo also said in a statement that she won’t let it overshadow the good she did for the world. However, following the three dancers, her stylist, Asha Daniels, also accused her of harassment, bullying, and racial discrimination. Asha also claimed she was forced to work for 20 hours per day. Lizzo’s spokesperson responded, calling the allegations bogus, and revealing she had never met Lizzo in person.
