Laurie N. Robinson Haden, Esq. Tapped for New Role at CBS Corporation

Laurie Robinson Haden Laurie N. Robinson Haden, senior vice president and assistant general counsel at CBS Corporation, will soon have a new role in the company?s Litigation Department.

?In my new role, I will oversee and manage outside counsel, direct legal strategy, and participate in alternative dispute resolution.?In addition, I?will continue to spearhead important law department initiatives, including our in-house CLE program, records retention program, and the development and maintenance of the law department Intranet,? she told

She will report directly to the Head of Litigation and retain her current title.?

A graduate of New York University and the Indiana University School of Law, Robinson Haden earned a certificate in mediation from Cornell University School of Industrial and Labor Relations that she hopes to utilize in her cases.???

A 2014 Network Journal 25 Influential Black Women in Business honoree, Robinson Haden joined CBS in 2002 and has since held several leadership positions within the company. She served as director of training and development for its?subsidiary CBS Broadcasting, Inc. and as Assistant General Counsel in the Labor and Employment Division. She was then promoted to vice president reporting directly to the?executive vice president and general counsel?of CBS Corporation.

?In that role, I oversaw law department operations and administration, the law department diversity program, and the launch of CBS’s company-wide records retention program.?From there, I was promoted to?Senior Vice President and Assistant General Counsel,? she says.? ?

The good news comes as Robinson Haden, a Maryland native, is gearing up for another successful Corporate Counsel Women of Color annual conference. She founded the organization in 2004 with the intent to foster diversity in the legal profession.

?I started Corporate Counsel Women of Color with a handful of women, and this was before LinkedIn, who would meet for dinner. I collected their business cards and created a directory that I distributed to 40 to 50 people. And the organization began and resonated with so many women of color that it grew into an organization. In 2004, we had 10 people meeting for dinner and today we have over 3,300 women around the world that we have been able to meet and identify. Our annual conference this year is sold-out with over 700 people,? she explains.???

This year?s conference will take place in Atlanta from September 23-25.
