Kimberley Crews Goode
Vice President, Communications & Corporate Affairs
Northwestern Mutual
Milwaukee, Wisc.
Detroit native Kimberley Goode ?fell in love with the idea of telling stories? while pursuing her bachelor?s degree in journalism from Northwestern University. After graduating, she embarked on a career in corporate communications telling corporate narratives. ?Being able to best position an organization?s story to drive results is a meaningful way to contribute to a company?s success,? she says. Today, Goode is vice president of communications and corporate affairs at Northwestern Mutual, where she is responsible for developing and executing the $23 billion financial services firm?s internal and external communications strategy. She has also served as the president of the Northwestern Mutual Foundation, the largest corporate foundation in the state of Wisconsin.
Goode began her career at Allstate Insurance, and subsequently assumed positions of increasing responsibility at Galileo International, American Express Co., Prudential Financial, Kellogg Co., and Visteon Corp., before joining Northwestern Mutual. She says she hopes to be remembered for opening doors and removing ?barriers that stand in the way of an organization being as diverse and inclusive as it can and should be.? Indeed, Goode is proud of her investment in helping others, saying, ?To be able to look back at where I have worked and see individuals who advanced in their careers and were able to make terrific contributions because of something that I said or did is really gratifying.?
She is equally committed to inspiring youth and, to that end, serves on the national executive board for Jack and Jill of America Inc., and as a board member of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metro Milwaukee. ?Every young person has something very special inside of them and if supported, they can bring it to the world. I enjoy doing my part to create that spark,? says Goode, who is also a proud mother of three children.
