From a music, fashion, and business connoisseur to a public and professional pariah, the reprehensible campaign launched by Kanye West (a.k.a. Ye) has proved his previously adored creative genius has snapped. Most notably, his unabashedly antisemitic Come 2025, his image is broken than ever before with interviews, releases, and public conduct which has left fans shocked, repulsed collaborators and ruined his legacy.
The Piers Morgan Meltdown
Kanye West’s latest eruption was during a short, explosive appearance on Piers Morgan Uncensored, when, after publicly trashing Morgan, he walked off the interview after just three minutes. What started off as a very intense discussion of his social media influence took an ugly turn when West took umbrage at Morgan’s bringing up his Twitter (now X) follower count. A little inconsistency concerning the number set Kanye off on one of his angry rants about his fame and refusal to accept accountability for his previously uttered antisemitic remarks.
The interview did not take long before it veered to West’s disturbing posts on X, which praised Hitler and Holocaust denial. Instead, West became defensive and evasive. He unplugged his earpiece and walked off the set with Piers Morgan and fellow guest Sneako, left to handle the aftermath. Later, Morgan called West a “sniveling little coward” and encouraged Elon Musk to ban him for life from X for repeated violations of the platform’s hate speech rules.
A Pattern of Hate and Decline
The Piers Morgan incident is just the most recent of a long string of inflammatory outbreaks. Kanye West’s antisemitic rhetoric started emerging in 2022 and has only been inflamed. In March 2025, he published a song “Heil Hitler” with offensive lyrics and visuals. The track earned universal scorn and was removed from most streaming services, but it also demonstrated a persistent trend in behavior that numerous people say stems from personal turmoil as well as pernicious ideology.
Such steps have done irreparable damage to the West’s empire, which used to prosper. Adidas reportedly sold its remaining Yeezy sneakers five years ago, in March of 2025, marking the end of one of the most profitable partnerships in fashion history. The brand had cut off ties with West in October 2022, but the last bit of stock represented the closing of the Yeezy-Adidas partnership.
Other companies followed suit. The collaborators kept their distance, and the sponsorships dried up and disappeared, and West’s once-hallowed brand became poisonous to the music industry as well as the fashion industry.
Mental Health and Public Image
In early 2025, Kanye was back in the news again after he announced publicly a new mental health diagnosis. He alleged he had been misdiagnosed with bipolar disorder and is currently diagnosed as on the autism spectrum. West thanked his wife, Bianca Censori, for pressing him to obtain a second medical opinion.
While some were sympathetic and felt it could explain or help with his erratic behavior, critics were warning that mental health issues can’t be used to justify hate speech. The diagnosis complicated an already problematic public story, given that there was no suggestion that West was ready to back off or apologize for anything.
It goes beyond even Kanye himself. Many are now asking how his four children, his two with Kim Kardashian, will see the legacy of their father in the years to come and, of course, in light of the fact that his controversies were played out in the public eye.
The Collapse of a Brand
Kanye West’s decline is not strictly personal, it’s monetary. His estimated net worth has plummeted, and a previous set of loyal fans has turned. His fashion forays are asleep, or six feet deep, and his music is no longer celebrated free of controversy anymore. What is left is a celebrity amid a raging identity, ethics, and public responsibility crisis.
