Former Ravens K Tucker facing 10-game ban. Veteran NFL kicker Justin Tucker faces a 10-game suspension to start the 2025 season. One of the most dependable legs in all of football at one point, Tucker has seen his career take a major turn recently, following serious off-field allegations and a drop-off in transactions. As the league enters its next chapter, Tucker’s situation is still one of the biggest talking points of the offseason.
The Suspension: Duration and Terms
On June 27, 2025, the NFL announced that Justin Tucker would be suspended for the first 10 weeks of the season for a personal conduct violation. The suspension is unique, though, in that it occurs without regard to team status; Tucker remains on the open market, and the fact that while Tucker is a current free agent, it starts on August 26 and it ends on November 11.
Tucker’s salary during the suspension, and loss of an estimated $3.52 million. He can still go to training camp, sign with another team, and play in preseason games, but he will have to sit out until after the suspension is up to take the field for a regular-season game.
Allegations and Investigations
The discipline is related to numerous allegations of sexual misconduct. Sixteen women massage therapists from eight massage therapy centers in the Baltimore area have claimed that Tucker acted inappropriately, according to a report by The Baltimore Banner. These accusations are from 2012 to 2016, fairly early in his career.
Although the authorities have not pursued criminal charges, the N.F.L. took the allegations seriously and opened a team internal investigation. Curiously, the league never conducted a formal disciplinary hearing. Instead, an undisclosed settlement was agreed to by the NFL, Tucker, and the NFL Players Association (NFLPA).
Tucker’s Response and Strategy
Justin Tucker has rejected the allegations and labeled the reporting “desperate tabloid fodder.” He will not appeal the suspension despite denying the claims. The 24-year-old’s decision is strategic, not an acceptance of guilt, as NFL insider Ian Rapoport notes.
Rapoport added that the fact that Tucker remains unsigned means that he can serve his suspension now, while not on a team, and return to the league without any wait later in the season. “He can work out, he can sign with a team, but he can’t play until Week 11,” Rapoport said.
In a public statement, Tucker’s law team said he is eager to have the matter behind him and that accepting the league’s resolution was the best course. They stressed that Tucker is attempting to re-establish trust and continue his professional career when the ban expires.
Career in Decline
Tucker’s performance was already slipping before he was suspended. And he shot 73.3 percent on field goal attempts in 2024, the lowest in his 13-year career. That was also well below his career average (90.2 percent) in a 12-year career that had made him the most accurate kicker in N.F.L. history.
The Ravens, who attributed reasons varying from off-the-field issues and an on-the-field decline, waived Tucker on May 5, 2025, with a post-June 1 salary cap designation. They need to replace him, and the fact that they drafted Tyler Loop says just how done they are with their longtime special-teams leader.
Net Worth and Contracts
The current situation notwithstanding, Justin Tucker has made a lot of money during his time in the NFL. According to ComingSoon. Net Worth As of 2025, Tucker has an estimated net worth of $25 million. He signed many large contracts, including a four-year, $24 million extension in 2022 that briefly made him the highest-paid kicker in the history of the league.
His career earnings make sense when you factor in that he has had years of elite play, has gone to Pro Bowls, and at one point had the longest field goal in NFL history, a 66-yard game winner in 2021.
