NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. (AP) ? Jurors have been shown a video in which the former Rutgers University student accused of using a webcam to spy on his roommate’s intimate encounter with another man says he violated his roommate’s privacy.
A video of Dharun Ravi’s (dah-ROON’ RAH’-veez) interview with an investigator on Sept. 23, 2010, was played in court Wednesday.
Ravi is on trial on charges of invasion of privacy, bias intimidation and crimes related to a cover-up attempt.
In the interview, he said he violated his roommate’s privacy.
He also said his Twitter posting “daring” friends to watch a web stream was in jest and that he had disabled his webcam before roommate Tyler Clementi had his guest over a second time.
Clementi committed suicide days after the alleged spying.
